Bio

Steve Nixon skillfully combines soulful piano with roots filled organ playing. Since moving to Chicago 13 years ago Steve has quickly become a powerful force in both the Chicago music scene and nationally.

Steve's credits include performing with 4 time Grammy Award Winner Buddy Guy, 2 time Grammy Award Winner Koko Taylor, Blues Music Hall of Fame Member and Grammy Nominee Lonnie Brooks, Jaimoe Johanson (Allman Brothers), and other Grammy Nominated musicians such as Shemekia Copeland, and Tab Benoit. 

His playing has recently been seen and heard on NBC, ABC, the nationally syndicated NPR program "All Things Considered", WGN TV, and Chicago's own WLUP "The Loop".

He has also delighted audiences by the thousands while sharing the stage with artists such as B.B. King, Wyclef Jean, Taj Mahal, Bernard Allison, John Lee Hooker Jr., and Liquid Soul.


Steve's also actively performed with Ronnie Baker Brooks, Kenny Neal, Floyd Taylor, Jellybean Johnson (Morris Day and the Time & Janet Jackson), Cyrille Neville, Frieda Lee, Coco Montoya, and the international touring Chicago Children's Choir.  In addition, he has done keyboard session work at RaxTrax, Super Buddha Studios, Moonlight Label, and Piper Toonz.

 
 

Steve has performed over 1500 performances in places such as Europe, South America, The Caribbean, Canada, all over the United States, and of course his home town Chicago. He is also a graduate of the Berklee College of Music.
